Here is a video of sant baba isher singh ji explaining how dhroo bhagat meditated. He mentions he used pranayam and meditated on chaturbhuj(4arms) saroop and merged with waheguru. There are many parts but this video is the final part on dhroo bhagat. He explains in this video.
I personally believe that everyone have to have a guru in order to merge with god because guru is intermediary. However i dont think so guru nanak was the guru that bhagats like kabir ji had. A pooran bhramgyani is also like a satguru, so they had these pooran bhramgyanis as their guru and merged with god.

the 10th door is sukham. From navel to trikuti is bhavsagar.   The imbalance of pavan from ida and pingla, cause this turbulence.  Naun darwajay (9 doors) are in this area. 2 eyes, 2 ears, 2 nostrils, mouth, anus, urethra(pashaab wali jaga)..   MANN surti is connected to maya since it is connected to Pavan.  Pavan is guru of maya.     Gurmukhs advise that one has to disconnect the Mann from the PAVAN. Whilst the MANN is in pavan it will remain in thoughts all the while and be in tre-gunn maya. To disconnect the Mann from pavan is when you stop the thoughts, vichaar and furnay of the mind.  Can only be done by becoming thoughtless and ik-chit with internal shabad.   Goal of bhagtee is to become thoughtless and Ik-mann, ik-chit with shabad.

Panj Shabad, Anhad Bani and Sehaj Dhun

The terms used in the chapter include panj Shabad, anhad bani and
sehaj dhun. These are in the form of music tunes. Panj shabad
means the five divine sounds. They resound in the house of mind
and also with Truth. The divine speech of Truth is known as Anhad
Bani. It is the best of all the speeches. Truth Himself gives this
speech. Sehaj dhun is the divine Word of Truth. It is the divine
command for our minds and is also known as Hukam.

Truth in His grace and mercy reveals His secret Shabad – the
insignia of His existence- (Anhad Bani or Sehaj Dhun) to some
blessed souls. The Guru gives the Gurmantra and through Gurman-
tra the secret Anhad Sabad (Word of Truth) is revealed to the
    seeker.

The Sukhmana channel, located in the center of the spine travels
upward making six circles (chakras). These six chakras are called
khat chakras (six homes or six doors). These are the six places
where the channels of Ida and Pingala meet with the Sukhmana
channel. When the divine light of our soul travels through these
circles, different types of sounds are produced. Gurbani says:

kr kir qwl pKwvju nYnhu mwQY vjih rbwbw ]
krnhu mDu bwsurI bwjY ijhvw Duin Awgwjw ]
inriq kry kir mnUAw nwcY Awxy GUGr swjw ]1]
rwm ko inriqkwrI ] pyKY pyKnhwru dieAwlw jyqw swju sIgwrI ]
With the entry of divine light in the six chakras, the divine melody
of drum beat appears and eyes act as tambourines. The sound
    LONGING LOVE FOR TRUTH
    25
of the guitar is heard in the forehead area. The sweet flute music
resounds in the ears. The mind starts to dance is reflected by
presence of sound of shaking ankle bracelets. This is the rhyth-
mic dance of mind for the Truth. The Truth, sees all the make-up
and decorations of such a mind.
    (SGGS 884)

These sounds resemble the tones and tunes of a cricket, flute, gong,
conch shell, horn, tinkling bells, trumpet, rebeck, singing cicadas in
the silence of the night, and a falling bronze vessel. Other than five
sounds, many more melodies manifest. On the opening of the sixth
chakra, the Shabad enters the Gagan (the Tenth Sky). This
continuously reverberating melody at the Tenth Sky is called Sehaj
Dhun or Anhad sabad. When our mind enters the stage of
UnnMunn (inward mind), all the doors open and the tunes and all
    the shabads start to sound.

    vwjy sbd Gnyry ]
The divine melody of the Shabad vibrates.
    (SGGS 917)

The combined symphony of these sounds is called Anhad Bani.
When these melodies are very loud and fast they are called Taar
Ghor Bajaantar (The grand orchestra of divine music). All these
melodies reverberate at the Tenth Door in the Sukhmana and are
called the divine music in the house of Sukhmana “Sukhman De

The True Guru is the All-knowing Primal Being; He shows us
our true home within the home of the self. The Panch Shabad, the
Five Primal Sounds, resonate and resound within; the insignia of
the Shabad is revealed there, vibrating gloriously. Worlds and
realms, nether regions, solar systems and galaxies are
wondrously revealed. The strings and the harps vibrate and
resound; the true throne of the Truth is there. Listen to the music
at the Sukhman channel and concentrate in the sunn. Contem-
plate the Unspoken Speech, and the desires of the mind are
dissolved. The heart-lotus is turned upside-down, and is filled
with Ambrosial Nectar. This mind does not go out; it does not get
distracted. It remembers truth without chanting and the mind is
immersed in the Primal Truth of the ages. All the companions of
this path are blessed with the five shabads. The Gurmukh minds
dwell in their homes. Nanak is the slave of that one who seeks the
Shabad and finds their home within.

In the following video, Sant Waryam Singh Ji explains that after Naam gets parpak in swaas swaas, there comes the stage of focusing/concentrating the mind/chit. The best vidhi according to Sant Waryam Singh Ji is focusing on moorat of Guru.
Sant Isher Singh Ji Rara Sahib also recommended doing dhyan of Guru Ki Moorat in his diary.
    Listen to the whole video.
So now we have Baba Nand Singh Ji/Baba Ishar Singh Ji Kaleran, Sant Ishar Singh Ji rara sahib and Sant Waryam Singh ji recommending dhyana of Gur Ki Moorat.

Bhai Sahab ji has clearly clarified that there isn't any such medical condition as tinnitus, it's only an ignorance when those who aren't able to diagnose it- understand it has termed it.
Many people have previous janam kamais they don't even know of.  Plus when your mind stops thinking be it under the influence of intoxicants or under the influence of bhakti (remember naam khumari-) you get cut off from the world-  you start hearing Anhad. The purpose is different but path tends to mix and thus the effect is the same -  silence..
Bhai sahab clearly mentions in other kathas that bhakti starts at the onset of these sounds... Meaning - Mind- thinking- ego- mai, meri stops.. Silence onsets- Bhakti starts...

You are looking at it in a logical way and just at the curtain. Its actually fixed. What the two people did.. they were already suppose to do.. but the way they did it just has become a reason to show to the world that it was all in there hands. I mean thats the illusion of free-will.. that it really looks as if it is in your hands, but what you are destined to do you will certainly do it... wether you try to stop it or not .. its all false bahana and nakhra. Everything is pre-destined and people also meet God because of there good pre-destiny. If today I goto prostitutes ... its becoz of my past pre-desined karmic tendencies... and if I say I am changing myself.. its not actually my *free will* that I am changing myself, Guru Ji is actually doing it and it is already fixed that way to happen.

I have met people who are very very high Gursikh adn they do all the simran of the world.. but in the next 6 mnoths there mind changes and they become complete prostitute , drunk-yard type of people and I have met people who were prostitute and drunk-yard type of people and became total Gursikh which ppl cant even beleive or had any ummeed (hope) from them !

This is all the play of God. He stages His dramas and makes people dance the way He likes. Theres not even a pint of free-will involved. It is just illusion and thats why it looks real , becoz its illusionary. To say you got free-will .. is like believing in ego only. coz free-will = ego.

The best example of this is if you listen to the suleman's tape. In that tape suleman is asked if he himself choose and asked for a sikh birth and actually Suleman said that God had already decided for Him to take a sikh birth, but his asking for a sikh birth was just a reason or a way .. but a sikh birth was already pre-destined for him and his asking meant the samething.

God can do what He wants , but to hide Himself.. He makes all these illusions like free-will and ego .. Guru Gobind Singh ji could have destroyed the entire Mughal Force even by taking one person into his army. He could do it alone. He was very powerful. He didnt even need to become a pir and hide from the Mughals, but all these things that they do is just the curtain part to show to the world, if they dont do it .. then it will appear as miracles. So God creates reason.

Whatever is destined to happen will happen. Nothing can change rest all is bahana.

That is exactly what he is saying. That is I why I posted it in this thread. If you sit in any practical session of gurmukhs they will say focus on the inner part of the ears and listen to whatever sound you hear. This is where the journey all begins….
It is so relevant to the very first few posts I made from the book years ago in this  very thread. Now the same is being clearly said by our own people who follow this path of shabad and surat.

That source is from Gurmat Meditation channel run by Bhai Dharamjeet Singh. You can hear his voice in the video. I don't think they would have posted if they not see the resemblance. From what I kind of understand the more you listen to them the more clear they will become and you will come to realise they were not crickets but more profound shabads all along.
I have heard this from a number of different sources. We associate them to crickets like because our mind is not still. The more the mind stabilises by listening the more louder and clear the sounds will become.
    Rest is Waheguru's kirpa ji.

I don't know about opinion of Baba Nand Singh Ji on this. Though many people say that Amrit Vela is between 3-6 am, but it is Daas' personal experience of naam jap after 12 am. When I found it difficult to get up at Amrit Vela during winters, I used to remain awake till 12 am, do my ishnaan, dry my kes, do naam jap and Gurbani Paath till 3:30-4 am and then sleep. My experience was pretty good but sometimes annoying because some of my family members (not much in sikhi) used to knock my door while doing naam jap. Other than that, my experience was really good. But then I gave up this routine because it was affecting my studies a bit.
I would say that this 12am routine can be followed during vacations to do a lot of Kamaayi in less time (but again various other factors also play a role). Also, many Mahapurakhs whose lives I have read about used to sleep really early and wake up at 12 am to do Kamaayi (in their old age).

    Good Qs.
Amrit Vela as it is known in Sikhi & Brahm muhurtha in Hinduism. Everyone has different calculations.
In Hinduism / Ayurveda, Amrit Bela starts 1.5 hours before sunrise, lasts for 48 minutes and ends 48 minutes before it. Some say it starts 2 hours before sunrise. In either case it is essential to capture that sunrise window time.
    In Sikhi,
Days & Nights as divided into 8 pehrs (3hr duration each)are..
Times are true within a deviation of say ~15min.
3am-6am 4th pehr of night 6am-9am 1st pehr of day 9am-12pm 2nd pehr of day 12pm-3pm 3rd pehr of day 3pm-6pm 4th pehr of day 6pm-9pm 1st pehr of night 9pm-12pm 2nd pehr of night 12pm-3am 3rd pehr of night
Best sleeping times are considered to be 2nd & 3rd pehrs of night ie. 9pm-3am (Total 6 hours)
Amrit Vela is usually ascribed to 4th pehr of night, ie. 3am-6am.
If we go based on above calc, you need to find the sunset - sunrise time and divide by 8 and the last 4th pahar is ur Amrit Vela. This is the calc I use.
Waking up at 11 or midnight and doing Naam Jap until 2 am and back to sleep is not Amrit Vela. You need to continue into sunrise to hit the amrit vela time.
I suggest getting some sleep before starting Amrit Vela. After amrit vela is done you can sleep during the day. This is how most ppl do in India, who do service at Gurudwaras.
    Good Luck

A mother loves her child unconditionally, even if the're a plonker. The respect level just differs. He loves unconditonally. Some bhagats become so after janams and janams of sinning. Noone is perfect, everyone is the Same, just on different stages of their journey's. God is the great forgiver, don't forget people such as Sajjan Thug the serial killer who became a Bhagat.
It's the law of Truth that we reap what we sow. It doesn't mean He's being judgemental of us. We have been given freedom of choice. Tell me how many times have you messed up in the 5 thieves of lust, anger, greed, envy and jealousy, ego and attachment? Are you perfect? All is perfect and all is Karam.
"Seriously? We are in the Bandhan of Lakh Chaurasi and Maaya. Only those Bhagti waala Mahapurush are free of Maaya."
Maya is an illusion, it's not real. If you really claim to follow and believe in Gurbani, then you would humble yourself enough to acknowledge that Parbrahm is everyone, everything, everywhere, and that there is only One. It's a khel, a game. When you start to see beyond duality, you begin to stop getting sucked into it. It's One, the demon, the angel, the good and bad, its all Nothing, an illusion, just Truth, God. We are Nothing, we are noone to judge when all is karam/ hukam.

This is an absolutely brilliant capture of all the noise generated in the last few days on this from a simple question of a humble seeker. The ones making the most noise will drown the seekers query and if I were him (as I was in the 90s), be left thoroughly confused.
For the seeker and the original querist - take Guru Gobind Singhs hukam and Bhai Gurdas's vaar as your north star to guide you. Guru Gobind Singh Sahibs hukam is  - jin prem keeo tin prabh payeo (tvay prasad savaiey- those who have love in their hearts for the Akal Purakh have found him) while Bhai Gurdas motivates us by saying that if we take one step towards Vahiguru, he takes millions of steps to reach us...

But a question, do i just keep listening to sound or do i have to do dhyaan of sakar roop too. Because i heard that you should start from sakar roop of guru sahib.
