No one's agreeing with breaking the law here.

But when the establishment starts crying tears over muslim girls going to Syria and offering rehabilitation and lenient prison sentences to muslim men (who have killed and raped for ISIS in Syria/Iraq before missing fast food and not liking American/Persian firepower and decided to come home) - I have to ask why things like these Sikhs have done are punished harder. Some of the above have longer sentences than the paedos!

I dont know how Gurdwaras in Leicester are run, but why do we always have to find the Panj Pyare? Surely they should lead and not hole themselves away from the Sikh masses?

I think a lot of people have forgotten details of this case. A Midland Sikh community told not to rock the boat even though the explosion of Mulism fundamentalists setting up shop in their town was leading to massive tension in the schools and streets. Kaljug SIngh and I both talked about how HUT types down south were leaving due not being able to afford to live here and wherever they ended up North would lead to a massive increase in grief for any Sikhs who live there. Luton and Leicester had some of the biggest house price falls in 2009 and large housing stock at the time of the benefit cuts. Look how horrendous the grooming situation is there now.

A girl who's family problems were exploited by devious men who made things worse. A social service and police force who reinforced the abuse and humilated the family and community. A last cry of help from the family desperate to stop their girl being sucked into a pernicious and barbaric alien community. The communities reaction to stop being used as human shield by the establishment to protect their core communities from the extremists.

The trial where the fewest who could be prosecuted where held to account. On the verge of a massive case and another example of Islamic Lawfare the girl pre-empted it all by living truthfully and not holding back. Accounts of her being driven into a Gurdwara car park and made to have sex along with exposing just how many outstanding pillars of the local muslim community where happy to pay to have sex with a 16 year old SIkh girl were enough to get the few on trial to admit their guilt before their whole community ended up on trial.

After all that it was somehow still our fault. Where as poor muslims and whites never seem to be blamed for their actions, we are blamed when someone else does it to us. If young muslim men cant be to blame for beheading civlians how on earth are these men guilty for what they did? Exactly how many more underage Sikh girls and boys must be sacrificed at the altar of 'community cohesion' before we say enough is enough?

To learn who rules over you, simply find out who you are not allowed to criticize.

You are looking it from the feminist point of view, a movement of of developed countries of 20th century and greatly helped by science. 1699 was different time . Khalsa was supposed to be martial and at that times you need to be quite strong to be martial .
Women at that time used to get married at 14-15 and produced 5-6 kids . infant mortality death from epidemics diseases were quite high.moreover martial communnities loose population at fast pace..Please tell how it was possible for women to have pregnancies in their prime youth and fighting war at the same time. It was simply not possible .That is why women who fought in war like Mai bhago were always few. For majority to fight in war , they have to renounce their duty of producing 4-5 kids and this mean death of that society at that time. If you want to blame anybody for sexism then blame god because it is the one who created this world in this way

If you would quote " Guru Maaneyo Granth " does it mean just Siri Aad Granth Sahib ji ?

Just as the 9 Gurus did not stress on just reading their writings what makes you think the Tenth Guru would stress on reading what Himself has composed ?

If you want to follow only Siri Guru Aad Granth Sahib ji then there is no question of calling yourself Khalsa ..being Kesdhaari and tyaar bar tyaar with 5 kakkars ..in case if you are Amritdhaari..

@jaikara I agree, you see Singh's carrying shingars who have never hunted and what is ironic is that they profess of Sikhs being vegetarians...if they read certain chapters from sri gur panth parkash would they calapse in shock? For example Singh's surving on fish as it is written in an episode. Moreover Singhs look the part but I would put it to you that most sehjdhari Sikhs who trim their beard or moneh would give these posers a walloping! They do not know how to weild these weapons they carry, its all for show. Also it must be said there are too many posers. Poser panth..coined a new name.

I do not entirely agree to his views however it was him who brought recognition to the Nihangsingh identity and today dressing up in bana has become fashion. The chaand tora who had ever aware about it ..now every sikh knows whosoever browses the web.

We have every right to disagree ..but in a proper manner ..so much of anger if used against grooming ..the world would shit in their pants ..be positive..views can be different every jathhebandi has something to say.

To gurvindersingh whoever you really are..have you read sri gur panth parkash? You are like the Singh's who loved fighting each other and who let the mughals run from battle when you could have destroyed their forces. Wake up and smell the coffee. Our panth has more important things rather than being hell bent on defaming Nidar Singh's name. At least he is reminding us that Singh's do have a backbone and are able to fight....

Even a stone wolud be better than that person, as it does not say any such nonsense .....

To say, Baba Nanak was a muslim, is like someone trying to say that spring and winter are the same....and we all know that is not true, while spring(Gurmat) gives coolness and flowers as virtues(humility and purity)...

The winter(manmukhta, moorakhta) only freezes the water ....

So does it, in that way freeze any common sense left in the brains of the stupid moorakhs.....

With each passing day, we do not get enough from these types of moorakhs ....and they go to the universities to teach Sikhee?

These are the real yam doots, spreading anti gurmat among the jeevas in this already heavy and dark Kaliyug ....

Do not listen these people, if anything is to be written and stamped in our hearts and minds, and passed on to the future generations, is at least the Mool Mantra as a solid base of foundation, to preserve the purity of Gurmat, rest all will take place in due time with His Hukum:

    Dear Ramgarhia,
frankly speaking, either is one on the shore, or either is one in the Ocean.

So now, what is shore and Ocean? Shore means, creation, and Ocean represents the infinite Wahiguru Akal Purukh.

As long as we are not one with Him, we are all sikhs without any distinctions. And I say this, not referring to the typical frame understanding of this particular word.

So who or what is a sikh also? Sikh basically means, a seeker. And as long as we have not merged and become one with Him, we are all seekers, independant of our caste, color or nationality...

Because the sikh is our soul, which goes beyond the barrier death, while our bodies, our outer coverings, just turn into a handful of dust...that is truth of the bodily coverings...

So, whether voluntarily by His Simran, of forcefully with the death, we leave back the bodies here and enter into the spiritual realms, we continue towards our destiny, with the aid of the Shabad Guru, that is Wahiguru in motion.

Then as the Bani says, the light of that sikh, disciple, soul, blends with the Light of Shabd Guru into the formless Akhand Jot of Wahiguru Akal Purukh.

Being moral and righteous in word speech and deed, is essential for our spiritual progress. Just as thirst is not related to any being of a particular place or time, so is humility and morality needed, for whomsoever wants to walk on the path of ruhaniyat, of course, and above all with the support of His Name.

I recall vividly that Bhai Chattar Singh explained in one of his kathas the term Shejdhari as being someone one who comes from another faith but also believes in the Guru ghar. I will see if I can dig the recording out. Example he gave was Sain Mian Mir.

Yes the common definition for a Shejdhari is someone who is not Amritdhari.

Ramgarhia , you dont have to prove anything to your friends , if sikhism inspires you , makes you a better person , you want to learn more from within , then carry on learning when your time comes waherguru will do kirpa on you and make you a true gursikh of Guru Gobind Singh Ji , but dont stop seek guidance from someone who is on the path already, seek guidance from the Guru ( sri guru granth sahib ji ) ..

If your mates say your a hindu , then so what , if your mates say your a sikh again then so what ....as jaikaarra mentions its inside you , if you know the truth , that what matters most , its from your actions people will realise the truth .

I came across this article from a Sikhnet posting where "Sarvaloha" is translated as "all metals".

Interesting with regards to the popular/mainstream understanding that it means "pure Iron". Apologies if this sounds like a typical Tapoban discussion, I just found the historic reference very interesting.

"The powder of all the metals (sarvaloha) as red as fire, or the mixture of the powder of kumbhí (gmelia arberea, sísa (lead), trapu (zinc), mixed with the charcoal powder of the flowers of páribhadraka (deodar), palása (Butea Frondosa), and hair, and with oil, wax, and turpentine, is also an inflammable powder."

    http://www.mssu.edu/projectsouthasia/histo...ra/BookXIII.htm

    Sikhnet post:

    Waheguru ji ka khalsa
    Waheguru ji ki fateh

    <<The>>

We normally think that stainless steel is pure iron, it is not. It contains chromium and nickel alloyed with iron in significant amounts that is why it does not get rusted.

We have conveniently translated the term 'Sarab Loh' as 'Pure Iron'. In old literature 'Sarab Loh' meant all available metals other than gold. Shakats or worshippers of godess or shakti considered metals as manifestations of godess's shakti hence in addition to worshipping 'iron' or 'iron weapons' worshipped all metals and collective term 'Sarab Loh' was used for these.

Incidentally iron became known much later than other metals in India. Copper and alloys of copper especially bronze were known for making weapons much earlier in Bronze Age.

We find word 'Sarva Loha' mentioned in Chankya's Arth Shastar. See the URL below:

    http://www.mssu.edu/projectsouthasia/histo...ra/BookXIII.htm

"The powder of all the metals (sarvaloha) as red as fire, or the mixture of the powder of kumbhí (gmelia arberea, sísa (lead), trapu (zinc), mixed with the charcoal powder of the flowers of páribhadraka (deodar), palása (Butea Frondosa), and hair, and with oil, wax, and turpentine, is also an inflammable powder."

Here Chankaya is giving a recipe for coating the tip of an arrow with an incediary mixture, iginiting it, and firing towards a beseiged fort in order to set on fire to help end the siege. The relevant phrase used is 'Sarvaloha Chooran' meaning powder of Sarvloh.

Elsewhere in wikipedia under 'Arth Shastara' under the metals the Sarvloh metals listed are Silver, Iron, Zinc, Tin, and Lead.

    Shaheedyan ji,
It is interesting to see my friend Serjinder Singh's write up. He is basically a scientist. I came across this pharase Sarva Loha while reading Arthashastara. I thought a scientist would better understand the science behind this mixture of metals. He explained many things about it and sent this information to Sikhnet. He explained that Since gold does not interact with oxygen in air so it does no rust. Gold therefore is found quite pure in nature and shining. Silver also is similar to some extent. These two are therefore known as noble metals. Third metal to be easily available is copper because it can be easily prepared from its ore by heating it in a relatively simple fire. Since copper was red coloured like blood or Lohu in Sanskrit, it began to be called Loha in early vedic period. After discovery of other metals such as tin, zinc, murcury, lead etc, mixtures of these non-Noble metals began to be callrd Sarva Loh. the importance of Sarva Loh apart from Chankya's reference is that even today these mixtures of metals are melted and cast into statues of goddesses. Generally it is called Sarabloh. Hence when In Dasam Granth we see this word it refers to goddess or Shiv. Even these days statues are made from five metals and the mixture when molten is called Panchloh. Google this word and see. During ancient times whatever metals could be collected to either make a weapon or to make statue of goddess or Shiv was called Sarva Loh. Shiv was both Sarabloh as a mixed metal statue of Shiv as well as Sarabkal as death. During pre-vedic period only Shiv and goddess are believed to have been worshipped on the basis seals depicting prototypes of these deities. Vishnu appeared quite late just before the Christian era. Iron was not that easily available during the Rigvedic period. Only meteoritic iron was known and sparingly used particularly for important statues or weapons such as Axe of Prsuram or the Bajjar of Indra. Metallurgy of iron was not well known at that time. Iron at that time was known as Ayas. Word Asi in Dasam Granth refers to a weapon made of iron as in Asiket or Asidhuj. Asi is a distortion of Sanskrit word Ayas.

Yep, I guess he's just trying to promote and obviously trying to get white folk in.
Like Bhagat says....'' Non-Sikh-->Non-Sikh dressed like Sikh-->Sikh with pub, cut beard, marriage dress-->Sikh''

He's still sikh to some scale, but if full bearded amritdhari sikhs don't want to class him as some level of sikh, then they are just talibanising sikhi.

Im not sure why he put the wedding outfit on....maybe wearing that with turban and kirpan is the most 'sikh' he has ever felt physically....especially if your a mona.
(When i was mona and got dressed like that for my wedding, it was the most 'royal like singh' feeling that could ever be expressed in my aura at that time!)

The problem is that we let prejudice govern our ego's too easily... the first glance of the news above....we see the word sikh,...then we see pub... then we see the dress up and immediately start nodding our heads!..tut..tut..
The guys not promoting sikhi, he's trying to promote the fact that he appreciates and understands the gora festive season and that this should help bring in some more custom for his business.

Besides, how else does he describe himself or wants the gora to their family?
......Not going to want goray saying ''we going to that pub run by pakis".... or "the brown asian guy's pub''
Most goray are pretty much aware if the brown asian belongs to hindu, muslim or sikh culture and that's how they will label him and his family.

Sikh is the descriptive term that is used to differentiate from muslim and hindus in this sense. It's a good identifier and way for them to categorize the brown asian guys
This is why some goray understand that sikh cultures are different and try adapting to western life and contribute to society whereas pakistani muslims would rather drain the welfare systems.
This is how most of them perceive us differently and appreciate the positive impacts we have made for the economy.

And besides, if he were full amritdhari ....then there would certainly be some questions to raise but we are just jumping the gun here because the word sikh was used !
And Dalsingh is probably aware of just how many full amritdhari sikhs in UK own off-licenses and newsagents.
(for those of you outside UK...off-license is liquor store and newsagents sell tobacco)
