Excellently said, thanks for showing me the mirror:
Knowledge is of no use, if it is not felt and applied. Just like: Carrying a bag of heavy food on the back won't put off our hunger, it is just a heavy baggage which can only help to get some admirers who are hungry for knowledge and one would get ego boost from that. In other words, knowledge is a burden unless felt and applied, and when its done it proves to be a boon. Once again the guidance of real Saints is proven who can point us our mistakes because we're even bound to misunderstood the meanings of Gurbani.......Mind is Mahabali.

It is an ancient discussion in all major religions whether the rule set is to be followed eternally by the people or whether one can reach such a state where one does not need to follow the rules anylonger. The jews of the Kabalah, Sufis of Islam etc all claimed that it was possible to reach a higher stage where rules (Talmud/Sharia) no longer applied to them because "the rules are a walking stick that teaches you how to walk. Once you learn to walk you no longer need the stick and hence get rid of it".
I've heard some Sikhs say the same, - that the rahit becomes insignificant at some point because you are already living Sikhi inside out - the soul being in constant vibration. one Singh cited this tuk as ref:
    ਕਬੀਰ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਇਕ ਸਿਉ ਕੀਏ ਆਨ ਦੁਬਿਧਾ ਜਾਇ ॥
Kabeer, when you are in love with the One Lord, duality and alienation depart.
    ਭਾਵੈ ਲਾਂਬੇ ਕੇਸ ਕਰੁ ਭਾਵੈ ਘਰਰਿ ਮੁਡਾਇ ॥੨੫॥
You may have long hair, or you may shave your head bald. ||25||

All I can say is it is Energy (Free-Energy/Radiant-Energy/Energy-used-by-Radionics/Chi-Energy/Prana/etc. etc.), the same kind of energy which is the root cause of motion/working of everything in this universe. No-one (except the Puran Brahmgyani) could exactly categorize the types of energies at play, but for the sake of discussion; yes, it is the Chi/Prana energy.

If you want to discuss this, please open another discussion......it doesn't look nice either on your part nor on my part to derail HisServant's topic.
So, here is my last reply; if you want to discuss this further please open another topic:
I'm glad that you're talking of the meaning of Khalsa; so, for your reference here is the meaning of Khalsa:
Atam Ras Jeh Janye So Hi Khals Dev Prabh Meh Moh Meh Taas Meh Ranchak Nahin Bhed.
A Khalsa is the one who enjoys the Atam Ras (Gyan Amrit) – spiritual bliss – and who has been elevated to such a level that there is no difference between him, the SatGuru and Akal Purakh.
It seems like the Khalsa you're referring to who has taken the Sanskar Amrit and is following all the rehit as told by our Guru Sahib. But my friend, could you call a Kindergarten (who just got the admission in school) student a Degree holder? Taking the Sanskar Amrit is the first step; Naam Amrit is the second stage where Naam is given by who has already met HIM; eventually Gyan is obtained by Guru's Kirpa and this stage is called Atam Ras. Atam Ras is the last stage of merging with God/Waheguru. The person who has reached this last stage is called Khalsa.
At last, I would say, something might work for 'X' as per his stage/karma but might not work for 'Y', but some different thought process might work for 'Y' but not for X or Z. e.g all the 5 fingers of our hand are not equal but together they make the hand and help us to achieve their final purpose (which is to do the task assigned). So, instead of bending on This-vs-That, pick what resonates with your consciousness and thinking and utilize it according to your thinking. No need to live in illusion that My interpretation is right because at the end of the day, everything is False (including All Religions), only HE is Truth because HE does not change with time. HE Was, Is, and Will remain unchanged.

It is basically "The Energy", and it has got many different names/forms/potentials etc......so, better to stick with the tag as energy. It is like electricity being present in a wire all the time; but it could be actively used when we plug into the wire. So, energy is there, we're just training the mind to use this energy.
I would suggest that you Visualize this energy coming from your Guru's image (Guru Granth Sahib Saroop or whosoever you're concentrating upon); do NOT limit yourself by thinking that it is Chi and automatically trapping in the attributes/properties of Chi.

HisServant, you're doing what was taught by our Gurus; most of the people tend to ignore all the real-teaching, inner working and just focus on outer bana, superiority complex and put everything in a box; they even place the Religion (a.k.a God as per them) in a box.
All I want to say is:
    - Just ignore these kind of people and carry on.
    - Do NOT let you teacher mind jump and engage in debate because neither they are going to change nor you. In-fact, it is a journey that everyone has to traverse himself/herself.
    - Do NOT explain anything, just don't let them ruin your flow and peace of mind.

I recently have gone under mentorship with someone who is in lineage of a well known Muslim saint from Guru Nanak Ji's time. (I don't want to say any names or anything else specific because he stays anonymous). He has a very mystic type lifestyle and I wanted to share an experience which I have had due to his guidance and hopefully learn more about it.

Yesterday he taught me a tibetan style meditation where you do a few different hand motions around the nabhi.

I started it last night (around 8-9pm) and it feels as if energy is pushing my hands. It feels as if the energy is leading my hands towards different directions. The feeling is similar to how you feel when you point the same side of two magnets together. I spent a few hours playing with is last night. While standing up I was able to lead it in a way where it physically pushed my body backwards. At other times I could feel a very cold wind coming from my hands. If I moved my hands a bit higher and broke the tension, my entire body would burst into vibrations.

Closer to around midnight I started to go through moments where I could smell a very strong flower type smell.

I called him and talked to him about it briefly but won't see him again for a few days. He said the force is called white energy. So my question is whether this is similar to chi? I know in many types of meditation they use energy.

Does anyone know anything about this?

We all seems to be debating (sometimes not upfront but very subtly) that which religion is the best. But The Wise one say that:
“It is no doubt a good fortune to be born into a religion, but it is a misfortune to die in one.”
it means that one should strive to go beyond the religion (dogmatic point of view) but at the same time it's good to have some set of rules. i.e a boat (any religion/institution/organization/technique) was supposed to help us to go beyond but unfortunately we've made the boat our business. Now, the main purpose of the boat (which was to help us cross the ocean) has been forgotten but we've learnt the art of making super-advanced boats which can sail all life in the world ocean but don't bother to look for the shore. And then yet there are some, who after reaching the shore has insisted to take the boat to the place. Vah re maya!

27 June is Satai Jon (a.k.a Satai=Tortured; Jon=Species).....which means, celebrate the husband's day which represents their real state......The tortured species.

"The Theory" which we all know is that the MAIN TOP-LEVEL real Ego is called Ahamkara; which provides identity to our functioning and is required in order to hold and retain our body, our individuality. Obviously this Ego operates on many subtle levels and has many different forms; Pride is the lowest kind of Ego which we do in day-to-day life. Now, again this "Pride" (lowest level of Ego) has many different forms. Back in home (India) there is a kind of proverb along the lines "Jo Aaan khanda, us de wich hume te hovege (Whosoever eats the food will have Pride)"; OR "Jo mitte da banea ha, ao ahankar te karega (Who is made of Earth/Mitti will have Pride)".
Some of us misuse the above mentioned "Theory" to prove that it is okay/natural to have Pride and is not possible to get rid of Pride unless we're at the Brahmgyan level. While some say that it is easy to control Pride. I (see ME, I) personally think that both are wrong because Yes, it is not possible to get rid of TOP-LEVEL-EGO (Ahamkara) unless we're at Brahmgyani level (crossed all the levels) and ready to merge with God. BUT at the same time we do have the capacity (read illusion because of Karma) to control our day-to-day Pride (lower level of Ego).
The main issue arises when the Ego/Ahamkara believes it is the Self.
Sant/Mahatama have mentioned the following techniques to help us with the Ego:
The first and the perfect way is via Gurbani: Waheguru GurMantar Hai Jap Haumai Khoee. Do not identity the Ahamkara with your-self. A good way to cultivate the witnessing of Ahamkara is to be aware of the fact that rising thoughts and emotions are often colored with either attraction or aversion. Instead of saying “I need this. Say It needs this”. Cultivate Nirmata/Humbleness which will wash away the first power (Mal/Filth) of Maya. And best and perfect way to produce Nirmata/Humbleness is do Sewa (Selfless Service) saying that I'm NOT doing, God is making me do it and then Thank Him. I personally find this as the simple but very potent/effective. Apart from the above 3 mentioned ways to control the Ego, there is NO easy way. It's extremely hard (but NOT impossible) to work with Pride. If you're thinking that you could control Ego via practice of silence or intellect or thinking to act this way or that way because that particular way is good or more Spiritual, then you're out of luck as Ego cannot be controlled by the source of the Ego......as in India there is a saying "Dudh de rakhe vaste billi nu nahi bethaeda (You cannot assign cat to protect the bowl of milk....as cat will naturally drink the milk)".....same way Mind (thinking/will-power/intellect) cannot be used to get rid of Pride. Mind itself is the cause of Pride and the source is previous bad karmas.
At last, I remember one Mahapurash has given the following flowchart to attain Salvation within one Birth as follows:
    1. Have Nirmata.
    2. Brahmachraj (Don't see another man/women)
    3. Do not steal and have Santokh.
    4. Do not do Nidea/Backbitting.
    5. Simran/Meditation of Guru updesh.
    6. Have less food, and less sleep.

If you're genuinely looking for some Spiritual information for peace or willing to investigate the nature of Self, then I would suggest you the following. Otherwise, if your sole intention is to debate or prove your point or just fun then please carry on as you wish.

The good place to start learning about the real Sikhism is from "Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji". It is a Sikh scripture that is the 11th Guru of Sikhs, IT was given the authority/Guruship by the 10th Sikh Guru. Sikhs have 10 Gurus and it was only during the 10th Guru's time that a formal religion/group (Khalsa) was established by giving them a distinct identity because of that time's need. Before the 10th Guru, they were normally called Sikhs but with no distinct indentiy. The 10th Guru chose not to include his writtings in Guru Granth Sahib Ji.
What I want to convey is: If you want to study something, then starting from a more gross form is not a good idea. So, again I suggest reading the source instead of just getting confused with personalized thinking of everyone around you. The reason is I say this because even in Sikhs there are different people who are not good spiritually, they are just like everyone else.
Recently Sikhs (like any other religion) have gone towards "Radical Interpretation" of their history and therefore going down the self-created-drain of darkness where there is always quarrel between this-vs-that. They just don't ever try to analyze the writings in Guru Granth Sahib Ji and just solely goes with interpretations that follows their point of view instead of the other way around.
You could see the following different groups within Sikhs these days.
Group-1: This is the most popular and could easily be traced on Internet. Religious youth are its main force. This group treats the history (after 1699 - Khalsa creation) as the sole indicator. This group claims that their Guru is Guru Granth Sahib Ji but they do not bother to seriously analyze the writing of Guru Granth Sahib Ji in the light in which it is written. They are so deeply concerned with the history after the creation of Khalsa (post 1699 or 1708) that they fail to see the history which took place between 1469 and 1699. They don't realize that they have neglected the history of 10 Gurus (around 230 years) and have just opted for the history of 10th Guru's last 9-10 years. They are just like other religious people who believe that their religion is the best. Group-2: This group mostly includes Scholars who have studied Guru Granth Sahib Ji deepy but from materialistic point of view. They are far better than the first group as they give importance to both the history periods. But their interpretation is more like Black-and-White world. They fail to see that the world where we live is domain of Laws and the teachings in Guru Granth Sahib Ji did not ask them to revolt against the Laws or reject the Laws. The teachings are merely pointing what is temporary vs what is permanent and how to get to the permanent while living in this world. But still they are far better than the first group. Group-3: Then comes a group who is a mixture of Group-1 and Group-2; sometimes they took one side and then sometimes took side of another group; not because they want to but they themselves are confused. Without the real Spiritual knowledge, they say things as per Group-2 but then eventually they will switch to Group-1. Group-4: This is the group who mostly have read the English transalations of Guru Granth Sahib Ji but not in the proper light. They try to reject all the rituals, traditions without understanding the real nature of this world. They are kind of more aggresive form of Group-2. They try to understand the higher concepts by dragging the higher concepts to their level of thinking instead of the other way around. They are always fighting with Group-1. Group-5: They are the rarest and rarely available on Internet. They do understand the real nature of this Universe and do understand that: "A person cannot live without performing the karmas. i.e one has to pick something out of the choices provided by the immediate environment.". They do see the core teachings of core Guru Granth Sahib Ji in proper light and therefore understand the purpose of Guru Granth Sahib Ji is to show us the proper path while living in this universe of Laws: Essence/Juice of all Scriptures (including Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji): The following are the core ideas of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji:
Purity of Mind (Karma): This is the first requirement on spiritual path. Purity of mind is achieved by staying away from filthy and investing in good, honest actions. Why there is a need to pure the mind, and how the impure mind is hindrance to real happiness, and how to purify the mind etc. all these topics are including in Guru Granth Sahib Ji. Concentration of Mind (Upsana): When mind is purified, then the desire for concentration arises in mind.  One-pointedness of Mind is achieved through worship with full concentration so that mind does not create ripples (thoughts) to disturb us. The concentration is achieved by devotion and worship. What is Concentration, why it is important, uses/mis-uses of concentration, importance of concentration, and how to achieve one - all these topics could be found in Guru Granth Sahib Ji. Knowledge (Gyan): When the search of Self is done with purity and concentration of mind, one realises that the same God that once appeared as separate is one's own; in fact the entire universe appears to be one. There are various topics which could give one the real knowledge but in order to understand the real knowledge, one needs to be expert in the first 2 points and with the Kirpa of Guru (again explained in Guru Granth Sahib Ji).  Practically, the above mentioned juice could be obtained by (explained in Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji)
Bodily Cleanliness (Isnan), Charity: Do charity to needy i.e Charity of money, goods, knowledge, time etc. Meditation

das got a reaction from Lucky in 5 Elements, Realization and being Selfless.
First and foremost, Lucky, you've touched a very good topic. It's excellent!
But there are couple of things that are off. Some of them are as follows:
Tagging the more subtle element (i.e Air) as easy to learn/master/contemplate as compared to more dense elements (Earth, Water, and Fire) is not correct. I don't think one can master the "Air" element more-easily in relation to its grossest form (i.e Earth). But yes, we might find it easier To-Work-With-IF-We-Agree-To-Work-With-More-Subtle-Form i.e breathing. I guess this is what you've meant in the face of non-availability of proper words, as you've mentioned that mastery is not the correct word.
It's not that easy to enter the Sunya-samad/Void; the ecstasy that you're referring to as Sunya-Samad is actually like enjoying the sounds of various elements and taking it as Anhad-Naad. I meant, what you mentioned as Sunya is not what real Sunya is.
Lastly, Turya (4th Stage/Phase/Mode) does NOT come when one is in Sunya (even getting to Sunya is hard). May be you're referring to sub-Turya phases which does provide the glimpse and only some taste but NOT the real one.

From the below mentioned details, it will be quite clear that Sunya/Void is NOT beyond the Mind and Maya. Also, getting into Sunya is NOT equivalent to Turya (4th phase/mode).

TURYA (4th state/ phase/mode): Whenever Gurbani talks about the Turya phase, IT is talking about the main Turya phase and NOT the sub-phases of Turya under the other 3 modes. It is because Turya does not exist as separate mode, it continually co-exist in other modes. The details are as follows:
4 States are: Jagrat/Wakefulness, Svapna/Dreaming, Susupti/DeepSleep, Turya/4th-State. Between the three states of the individual subjective body, waking, dreaming, and deep sleep, there is a gap. This gap is a junction between the waking state and the dreaming state. There is also a junction between the dreaming state and dreamless sound sleep and there is a junction between sound sleep and the waking state.  But within all these 4 states, there are sub-divisions as follows and I'm sure that there might be further sub-divisions; after all it is a world of Illusion; not that easy to break ALL the veils.
Jagrat: Wakefulness is the state wherein one is full of awareness from his own point of view, from the point of view of individual consciousness, not from the point of view of subjective consciousness. APATA shakti (Inferior energy) is present.
Jagrat-Jagrat (Wakefulness in the world of Wakefulness): This is the state of complete objectivity. People who exist here are totally given to the objective world. They are never conscious of their self. They are absolutely unaware.
Jagrat-Svapna (Dreaming in the state of Wakefulness): When subjective consciousness enters into objective consciousness and then loses awareness of that objectivity and lives only in the impressions of objectivity while in wakefulness. In other words, it is Day-dreaming. e.g when, in the objective world, we look at a particular person and we are not aware of looking at that person, then we are traveling in your own impressions.
Jagrat-Susupti (Deep Sleep in the state of Wakefulness): When in the state of wakefulness that individual subjective body, both externally and internally, loses consciousness of the objective world and also loses consciousness of the world of impressions. i.e Externally, he is not experiencing the objective world and internally, he is not experiencing the world of impressions.
Jagrat-Turya (4th State but in Jagrat): The individual subjective body, after losing consciousness of both external and internal objectivity, enters into some consciousness of Self, of Being. He is partly illuminated by that awareness of Self and becomes quite aware internally of the consciousness of Self. He moves and travels in the objective world, and at the same time, he resides in Self-Consciousness. He does not lose hold of his internal subjective consciousness.

Svapne: Svapna is the state found in dreaming, in impressions, in memory, in madness, and in intoxication. APATA shakti (Inferior energy) is present.
Svapne-Jagrat (Wakefulness in the state of Dreaming): When the subjective body travels in impressions and is given to those impressions in the field of objectivity and, at the same time, loses consciousness of those impressions. Here, this individual sometimes travels in the waves of impressions and sometimes travels in the waves of objectivity. e.g if in a dream you see a pencil and then, when you look again, you see a knife in place of the pencil, you are not conscious of this change. You do not ask the question, “Why is there now a knife where there once was a pencil?” Everything in this state, normal or abnormal, seems normal and ordinary to you. It is objective because you are given to objectivity and are lost in the object, which in this example is the pencil. The question, “How is this so?” does not arise in your mind.
Svapne-Svapne (Dreaming in the state of Dreaming): The individual subjective body travels only in the world of impressions. Without the least awareness of their connection of one to the other. You see a pencil, then you see a book, then you fly in the air, then you are driving a automobile, and yet you are not aware of any of this. You feel that everything is perfectly okay.
Svapne-Susupti (Deep sleep in the state of Dreaming): Sometimes in the dreaming state, this subjective body, while traveling in the world of impressions and thoughts, also develops some awareness of subjectivity. If, for example, you were to see a pencil in a dream and then in the next moment you were to see a knife in place of the pencil, you would wonder why the pencil has become a knife. You realize that you are not awake, that you must be dreaming. You are traveling in subjectivity; however, that subjectivity does not remain. You question and argue and then you forget, you lose this consciousness and are again traveling in impressions.
Svapne-Turya: When you are in the dreaming state and observe some particular object, you perceive this particular object in the world of impressions. And when at that very moment, while in the dreaming state, you become aware, you become conscious that you are not awake, that you are in the dreaming state and, by the grace of your master, you cast away the objective world of impressions and enter into samadhi, this is the state of svapna turya. This state also is not permanent. Again, you fall into the dreaming state full of impressions and begin to dream. Realizing that you are again dreaming, you enter again into samadhi and then another dream comes and takes you away. You move from the dreaming state to samadhi and back to the dreaming state and again to samadhi and so forth. You are incapable of maintaining that state of samadhi.

Susupti: Deep Sleep, NO-thoughts/Thoughtlessness a.k.a Void/Sunya/Absolute-Slience but still under the field of Maya tattva and Kala/Time. It is NOT beyond Mind. PARAPARA shakti (Medium energy) is present.
Susupti-Jagrat (Wakefulness in the state of Deep Sleep): You lose all impressions and thoughts and remain in absolute VOID/SUNYA; you have no consciousness. All the persons in this world does have access to thoughtlessness in deep-sleep. While remaining in this state, you are not aware and you do not taste its joy. For example, if you have fallen into this state of sound dreamless sleep, where you travel neither in objectivity nor in impressions, and then when you emerge from that dreamless state, someone asks you, “Where were you?” You would reply “I do not know anything.”
Susupti-Svapna (Dreaming in the state of Dreaming): You have some impression of being in subjectivity, there is some cognition of remaining there. In this state, you are somewhat conscious that you are traveling in subjectivity.
Susupti-Susupti (Deep sleep in Deep sleep): while you are traveling in the world of subjective consciousness, the impression, the faint idea that this is the world of subjective consciousness, remains in the background throughout, without interruption. Awareness remains in the background in an absolutely peaceful state. In this state, there is no agitation. We do NOT feel the bliss but do feel the PEACE.
Susupti-Turya: You travel in the world of subjective consciousness. You are continuously aware of that subjective consciousness in the background and at the same time you experience the BLISS of this state.

Turya: Real bliss. This is first state which is beyond the MIND. This is what Gurbani is talking about. PARA shakti (Supreme energy) is present here. There are 7 STATES of Turya which is not discussed here. This is the REAL and getting here is no joke. The state of turya is said to be the penetration of all energies simultaneously, not in succession. All of the energies are residing there but are not in manifestation. They are all together without distinction. Many weird/strange experiences are encountered here. I guess that the experiences as told by Sant Baba Isher Singh Ji and Sant Waryam Singh Ji might have occurred here.
Turya-Jagrat: It exists when the consciousness of turya is not vividly manifested. Here, the consciousness of turya is in a subconscious state; it is found in the background. In this state, though strong consciousness exists, it is not manifested totally.
Turya-Svapna: Consciousness of turya is more vividly manifested. Consciousness is stronger here.
Turya-Susupti: Consciousness of turya is the most vivid. Here, consciousness is the strongest.
    Turya-Turya: There is NO Turya-Turya mode/phase.

It is also good idea to keep in mind the list of 36 Tattvas/CREATORS (including Maya and Kaal/Time). Here is the list with gross to subtle: Keep in mind that the 3 gunas are not part of tattvas because those are created by Prikrti and not creators themselves.

agreed. Truth is very few people have Guru Saheb as a Living Guru in their experience.
Just Imagine, if a Singh could talk like that in the presence of Guru Gobind Singh Ji maharaj darbar?
And another reality is that all the realized mahapurush that we know of never took any positions of jathedari etc.
Once Akalis came to influence Baba Nand SIngh Ji to get him into his party. He turned them away.
I guess its a working reality that once you are involved in a religio-political scene things are going to get dirty...but it should not be done in Maharajs Hazoori.  You can have a separate press conference & choose words wisely.
Now just imagine, if a secret agency kills either dhumma, panthpreet or dhunda... they can get both ranjit singh & amrik singh into trouble , and clear the playing field of main players.
One has to be very wise with choosing words.

das got a reaction from jaikaara in Gallstones
Day before yesterday, my mom started having gallbladder attack and instead of having Grapefruit+Olive-Oil without apple-juice; we tried FRESH Papaya (eating raw + raw seeds + squeezed juice) and it took care of her many problems: Gallbladder attack, Low BP, Low pulse, Low energy. Obviously, Papaya won't pull the gallbladder stones in a night but having read the authenticated information from various old cultures it is evident that Papaya's seeds are known remedy for gallbladder stones and the overall Papaya is known as the 'Fruit of Angels' and it has very potent digestive enzymes.
So, may be you can also give it a try along with Flush.

We've done it in our family on multiple persons and I must say it works perfectly. But there is a full procedure that needs to be followed. In order to get rid of uneasiness, 1 time is enough but in order for TOTAL FLUSH (including some which doesn't yet end up in Scans) of SERIOUS stones does take 10-12 repetitions after 3-4 weeks.
Hot water is good and should be taken regularly, not only for gallbladder but for general health. Secondly, use the Grapefruit (NOT juice of grapes) with Olive oil, lemons are second best if Grapefruits are not available. Lastly, Enema and Colon Irrigation and important part of procedure but in general no one cares but after 1 flush the stones are out and the patient doesn't bother further until next attack.
Here is the chapter extract which does mention all the steps (please download it so that I can delete it ): http://satgur.net/98op012_34/Liver_And_Gallbladder_Cleanse.pdf
Here are some excellent books on the topic and is worth the read:
