Nice 80 Malas a day... Of the 108 beads?

I find the absolute best way to keep sadhana is start your day off right, honestly at amritvela if you can just get yourself into a cold shower you have a tremendous chance of succeeding, something you should definitely try is to get into the bathroom and just splash cold water on your face for a few minutes. If you can't get to the washroom, just have a bowl or bucket of cold water and a towel near so you can use that.

As far as a Sadhana goes, if we as a forum... get together, and the members who wish to participate decide a certain number of mala's of mool mantar or gurmantar, and each member will report back daily....

    Something like that...

Also, Tying yourself to a schedule, and I mean Hour by Hour what you will do can get you going well.

For me what I do to try and escape this reality is since I play guitar, I play and do simran while playing guitar along with it.  I can get lost in it completely.  I actually find the guitar to be more calming sound than harmonium so while some will likely balk at playing guitar for Kirtan etc I find it is much more easy to take me away from the physical at least for a short while.

I do not discredit the Sants(I'm really pro sant) but in my honest opinion if somebody actually sees the true guru in Guru Granth Sahib Ji maharaj then they really don't need the help of anybody except guru Ji. For example we can do simran with or without a Mala. Some people do swear by using a Mala while others don't. It's just a minor aid/tool like how n30 veer says. Same thing with a sant. A sant is an aid. Some people need a sant like sant baba nand Singh ji and some people don't need the aid of a sant like sant baba Nidhan Singh langar sahib wale.
Doing darshan of Sants are a great thing and I myself do darshan as well.

I don't know much and apologize in advance but I think SGGS Jee gives us guidelines, basic attributes of God, what to do, what not to do, whom to look up to like sants, importance of sangat, like that. Along with is the main component which is missing in this conversation that is simran on waheguru mantra, As simran goes to higher stages, buddhi goes more subtle and hidden arths of the gurbani emerges.
To find Waheguru in Guru granth sahib jee, we need to have mind of purest level which can be attained by simran. Only then we can "Bhujj" him.
Mind which understands arths have no access to soul, and we have to merge our soul(drop) to waheguru(ocean), and accessing of our soul is only done by simran, as far as I know.
Complete sant necessity arises when the sikh reaches higher stages of simran, and need guidance from other Gursikh who himself tread through similar paths to reach ultimate destination sachkhand. Thoughts?

    that's a poor excuse again.
You are saying that gurbani is only for brahmgyanee, ... a limited view is not going to help anyone get to that level.
and NO, the above is not a stage for brahmgyanee because if we make the effort then we can all get there. Brahmgyan comes when the person completely merges in with Brahm., when yoa and brahm become completely ik-mikh.... he becomes you and you become him....................You need to understand this..  as person doing 24./ saas saas doesn't have to be brahmgyaan.. that step comes after.......the complete merging of the mann......
Bro, you have to stop thinking inside the box and stop using only a brahmgyan can do this or do that. You are talking inside the box of your own panj chor and not seeing the truth of gurbani. Gurbani is not about translating it correctly to understand it...it's about ''feeling'' it and getting underneath the surface towards the SACH that it comes from. ......If you have no idea what I am talking about, then you haven't even attempted to see it's Truth
I see gurbani being played about too much on this forum as a tool for battling egos....I urge you all to please not do this and stop using it from it's surface levels. This makes you no better than the missionaries, who do exactly the same.

You see the mantra itself helps to wake up and manifest the powers of the MIND.
Our limited buddhi doesn't even realise the powers that are hidden and tucked away in this Jyot Saroop Mann.
Thus, Mantra is a 'tool' that is specific in knocking and waking that mind.
    NOTE ...man-tra is man=Mind and tra= Tool.

Don't get mixed up............You have to realise that it is ''displays'' of worship that are not gurmat. ..and this means any kind of display, not just dancing.
Check my post again,, it's about your Mind-atma connection and what you have it focused on.
You have to realise what 'worship' really means.
A gurmukh is meant to get to stage of 24/7 saas saas and rom rom..........If you get there, then that means that any thing you do during that 24/7 can become acts of worship..because your mind will be tied like a knot with satguru.

OK, so you are in effect saying that Men have a different role in this world than women ?
Meaning, that women have an EXTRA duty to worship their husband ? and husband has a non-respecting/sit-back/easy ride ??........isn't that islam ???
How does this really make sense to you ?...

Buddhist Monks through their mind concentration exercises have had great tolerance for pain. One monk actually self immolated himself to protest, and actually sat still through the whole process. I dont think they were Brahmgyanis yet.
Guru Ji says  Man Jeete Jag Jeet.. one who has conquered the mind can conquer anything... so pain is just a little thing
But needless to say power of a Brahmgyani is unlimited.

Dancing can be a form of worship......... It's about what your mind is focused on.
The few of you that may understand true bhangra, will actually know what the moves represent.
You can dance whilst you are doing sift salah of Waheguru, but again it's about your mind-atma connection.
    Try it!

Paapiman, ...we all can conquer.   we all have the same minds. ...bramgyanee's mind is drenched in the paramatma completely... but it is still the same jyot saroop.
You have to try and look at everything as a whole.
To be in gurmat, you have to step towards non-dualistic. ..
When you say brahm-gyanee and non brahm gyanee...then you are creating even more dualistic dubida...in this maya world that we are already in.
That my friend, is the wrong attitude when walking towards God. We have to try and learn to stop seeing black and white. and creating excuses of this white that is black,, this is man that is woman...etc.

Quite simply...we have Mind, body and Soul.
Soul is the atma,----drop in ocean-->drop of atma in paramatma
Mind is jyot saroop...OR it came from the same paramatma origin, but now in Maya it thinks that it is the master and the one running the show !
When I say ""running the show"..............i'm referring to Body, remember we are Mind, Body and Soul.. ..And the Mind has become enveloped in the matrix illusion and thinks that it controls both the body and the soul.. ...It actually acts like it is the master of the atma,, and this is the same atma from which it was formed..(the jyot saroop)
Adding to this,, I've just realized that quite simply... this is how us descriptions of Man-mat(Mind's wisdom) and Gur-mat(atma's wisdom)  are coined.
Thus, when we let the MIND be the master over the Atma.-->then we are in MAN-MAT.
But if we let ATMA be the master of Mind, then we in GUR-MAT

So, what's the secret of getting the Atma/soul to show it's true self and be mastering the Mind ??..............in more simple words, by stilling that racing hyperactive mind.

It's really good..........natural....and like N30 says....''getting in touch with intuition"
and I swear it works if you do it with serious intentions..and it will help in conquering your mind, ..overcoming weaknesses and panj chor..In fact, ..anyone one of your panj chor issues can be addressed and worked at.
It makes you look at any given situation ''outside'  of your own ego...........and this all fits in nicely for me in terms of gurmat and trying to keep the proper jeevan jach.

You know,,  people don't go around saying that they visit a psychologist or see a counsellor....but my case was quite different......and I'm completely open about it.  The ones that shun and disregard are the ones that always hide their own weaknesses and insecurities.
It was part of my physical rehabilitation after coming out of a coma with multiple injuries........The fact that nearly all my therapists have been spiritually inclined and not Sikhs, has probably helped a great deal and I have only used natural, alternative and adjunct therapies.
