As for physical measurable experiences -
"parkash" is a lot stronger and feels like a "tool". If I'm ever tired, I just sit in the place where there's light (when I say light I don't mean a literal light but more of a light that's colourless but also can get very bright - I know it's probably hard to try and figure out what that would look like). But sitting in that spot feels refreshing for the physical body.
The mind lets go of the body in a very different way now. It's like it just dissolves and then all that's left is space. It's a very easy and smooth process. Just like sugar dissolving into water. And then eventually gets to the point where all memories, thoughts and sense of self is gone. There's this experience that happens where it feels like the mind is going through mini explosion type phases. The deeper and longer I sit in there, the more of a shock I go into once I wake up. Waking up from that state and transitioning back into the body feels like entering tregun for the first time. It's a literal shock for a second or two until I remember who I am again.
It's like being in two different worlds - the physical world where the body lives life and then being non existent.
But even when the mind is with the physical body that "non-existent state" still exists.
It's very difficult to put labels on it and describe it but the best way I can put it is "I exist but also don't". It's like being a ball of energy in a physical body. And at times it feels like what "I" am or could be also exists outside of the body.
The part of the body-mind complex that takes in sensory information is a lot more in tune with subtle energies as well. I feel a stronger collection of energy around the head. It's very heavy. I don't know how to explain this.
And then at times it feels like the entire universe is inside the mind. I lived most of my life with the perspective that the universe is external and outside of the body. They felt like separate parts. But now it's like "everything else" is inside the thing that feels like "me". So as a result, everything feels like it's "me". BUT at the same time "me" feels like it does not exist so it's as if nothing actually exists. Again, "illusion" is the best term but it still doesn't describe what's being processed by the sensory system.
When I type all of this out it really does not make any sense but the experience itself makes sense when experienced.
This is why I stopped telling my friends and family my experiences or updating on here. There's just no way to explain things anymore that make sense through language.

Edit: And to add to all of this - only the experiences that have a "visual" or "sound" or some other form of connection to tregun can actually be described. Anything that goes beyond the senses or cannot be connected to tregun using an analogy can't actually be put in writing. They're experienced but then the mind can't even properly remember them.

They are all traps bro. There are thousands of worlds out there. Paataala paatal lakh agaasa aagaas orak orak bhaal thake.. Keep on searching and getting tired. The only parmeshwar is sarab vyaapak-  omnipresent. Why waste time in searching Astral worlds when we can feel him as close as our eyes

You guys are getting mixed up with what you read about astral travel.
There are a few different events that are often coined under the same banner.
Firstly, in Simran, and in advanced stages of simran, you can experience "consciousness expansion" this is being fully conscious of exactly where you are physically and at the same time your consciousness can also be in full awareness some place millions of miles away!  This means you don't exactly "exit' your body or anything and leave it behind, but you can be fully conscious in 2 places at once.  A member or two on here has experienced this whilst meditating and you really won't ever understand it unless it's experienced.
Secondly, In simran/as per gurmat /gurbani. ...the object is to CLOSE the 9 doors(naun darwajey) and meet our One Prabh. This is ONLY by "Har Har Naam dhyiaana"  . Now, I can't say no more, because I don't know if 9 doors close and soul exits dasam duar to have darshan OR if the darshan occur whilst in a state of consciousness expansion. However, I do feel that it is probably the former and in that sense, I believe that our interest as per gurbani, should only be on astral event of closing naun darwajey and opening the dasam.
As per the most common explanations of astral travel, which involves atma (inner soul) exiting body via some route or method; Sikh abyaasee is only interested in leaving the body via dasam duar, because that is the only direct portal to waheguru. Leaving by any other of the 9 doors keeps you in the lower realms.

It depends how the sounds made you feel. If they made you uneasy and the paralysis feeling was negative, as if you felt something was trying to get you or harm you, they were probably from hell/ negative spirits.
If they were soothing and made you feel at ease and more relaxed, they could have been Anhad Naad. I’ve heard both, I got paralyzed a lot back in the day by negative spirits/ demons etc.
When you do simran and hear actual Anhad Naad, and your body becomes still and doesn’t move alot, it should be a calming, nice feeling.

    Good topic and good post.
I will just add a little because I feel that it may be a technique or jugtee that is given. I think it was the bellows mention in translations tat made me think of breathe in, breathe out, breathe in, breathe out....I'm not disagreeing with your post or anything, but I think we can dig a little deeper and see something that is practical and for us to use?
I think it may be saas saas gurmantar jap. We jap using bellows of body core(stomach navel and lungs), the gurmantar has to be done with dhyian and single one-pointed focus.  We merge with and into anhad naad. Get amrit rus and ching-ching-->a minted coin of naam begins to accumulate in our body-crucible.
...Have a look below and see what you think?
Patience of the goldsmith. ...This is essential because to get the final end product, the goldsmith has to sometimes work very patiently with small intricate details. In this case, he mentions the end product as a mint/taksal coin. Not an ordinary coin that would just be considered a coin shaped disc, but one with an official royal mint like seal to make it authentic.

Understanding/intelligence -->Anvil, ...this is to what the "object" is hammered and shaped...... The "mat" is Guru's mat or gurmat.
    Using guru's mat, we use guru's mantra.....gurmantar.
The hammer/hathiyar, used to shape the gold and make it authentic has to be specific in order to hammer the details. I think this is reference to "naad' because "gurmukh naadan, gurmukh vedan, gurmukh reha samayee" ....In simran, you have to listen and merge into the naad..... this leads to naam amrit.

The "bellows" are used to pump forced air into a furnace to get the molten gold. ....Action of bellows is by expanding and contracting manually. This is analogous to stomach and lungs using saas graas techniques of breathe in-out, in-out, wahe-guru,..wahe-guru.. As per our prana,  this area of the body is where heat is produced. ->the TAPAS is the heat energy generated by any yoga practice.  Too much is not good, but to get the end product we still need it providing we can cool down the object in question. .....The cooling energy is higher up from the stomach and comes from moon energies of bindu chakra....Amrit is also considered as cooling and in gurbani it mentions in places how amrit cools the agan or brahmagan(fire-heat).
NOTE- a lot of people get confused and think that they should avoid body heat production. They feel this because of problems with too much inner agani ....therefore, they avoid many practices, foods etc.... Sadly, they don't realise that we need both, but they have to be balanced. This is why yoga describes sun and moon energies distributed around the body. The sun/ right eye or pingula side is heat. The moon/left eye or ida side is cool energy. Guru ji mentions in gurbani that the sun and moon are both needed to nurse us, just as we have daylight and night.
The crucible is where the product is collected of poured into. In this case, the body. Remember that the body has been pumping the gurmanta like a bellow from the body core. This will have generated the tapas heat.. The next step was to get the gurmantar into  an authentic molten naam ras....and this happened using the ved from the naad. The next step would be to have the molten naam ras poured into the body crucible.

Only now, after the molten amrit rus is poured, is the shabad and the coin of naam produced. This coin has the official seal to make it mint and give it an official currency value.
Why would we need an official mint shabad/naam need value?
Because the Wealth of naam is the only thing that we can take with us. Nothing else is of any value. We can't use fakes, we can't buy naam on black-market. We need the official naam currency just like the royal mint coins and US presidential seals on currencies.

Nor is the aim of meditation to stop thoughts. Thoughts will continue in your lower mine, eventually you will separate from it and won't be conscious of the nonsense but it will still be there.

    @harsharan000 and @Sikhilove
Interesting topic. Without butting into a debate, I have to say that as per my understanding of "truthful living" and good deeds; I would agree with @harsharan000 .
@Sikhilove,  let me explain below on why I come to this conclusion.
Doing good deeds falls under the umbrella of Satogun behavior.. Remember that maya is divided into tamogun, rajogun and satogun. >the 3 gunas of maya..  Since maya is the creative illusion, it is also in a continuous flux of motion. Sometimes we call it Kaal's desh since this motion is relative to Time and Space.  However, it is not the Satch or absolute truth.  Yet, we also know that the Satcha Nirankar exists among us in this illusion, therefore we can say that elements of the ultimate truth are within maya but that doesn't mean that the satch is maya..    You following what i mean?
Now, the shabad you quoted above and similar shabads, all have to be taken in context to the message of Sat within the shabad..  Let's have a look at the one you quoted......
    ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨੋ ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨੁ ਨਿਰਮਲੁ ਸਾਚੁ ਸਮਾਲੇ ਰਾਮ ॥
Merā mano merā man nirmal sācẖ samāle rām.
My mind, my mind has become immaculately pure, contemplating the True Lord.
    ਅਵਗਣ ਮੇਟਿ ਚਲੇ ਗੁਣ ਸੰਗਮ ਨਾਲੇ ਰਾਮ ॥
Avgaṇ met cẖale guṇ sangam nāle rām.
I have dispelled my vices, and now I walk in the company of the virtuous.

    ਅਵਗਣ ਪਰਹਰਿ ਕਰਣੀ ਸਾਰੀ ਦਰਿ ਸਚੈ ਸਚਿਆਰੋ ॥
Avgaṇ parhar karṇī sārī ḏar sacẖai sacẖi▫āro.
Discarding my vices, I do good deeds, and in the True Court, I am judged as true.

    ਆਵਣੁ ਜਾਵਣੁ ਠਾਕਿ ਰਹਾਏ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਤਤੁ ਵੀਚਾਰੋ ॥
Āvaṇ jāvaṇ ṯẖāk rahā▫e gurmukẖ ṯaṯ vīcẖāro.
My coming and going has come to an end; as Gurmukh, I reflect upon the nature of reality.

    ਸਾਜਨੁ ਮੀਤੁ ਸੁਜਾਣੁ ਸਖਾ ਤੂੰ ਸਚਿ ਮਿਲੈ ਵਡਿਆਈ ॥
Sājan mīṯ sujāṇ sakẖā ṯūʼn sacẖ milai vadi▫ā▫ī.
O my Dear Friend, You are my all-knowing companion; grant me the glory of Your True Name.

I'll elaborate a little further as per my understanding.-  In this context, the key and root of shabad is the first pangtee.  "My mind, my mind has become immaculately pure,"  Shabad mentions of how the Mann has been purified. Further, it goes on to say... since it is now purified (via simran), I can dispel my vices (ie. the 5 chor)
NOTE- one can only beat the 5 chor once the veils and dirt have been removed from the Mind.  Yes, by doing satogun deeds we can dodge and maneuver around the dhoots, but you won't actually be able to conquer them unless the Mann has been purified by Naam simran.  Why? because then the game gets governed by Naam,
The important point I'm trying to make is that  the goal is to purify the mann. The mann needs to be purifed enough so that Naam can become manifest. Once naam is pargat, then you can proceed towards revealing the mann's jyot (mann tu jyot swaroop hai).   I firmly believe and understand that the mann won't be purified enough (ie. to get naam) by doing satogunni good deeds alone.  Hope you follow what I'm saying here?

    Very good understanding.
Naam, shabad, and amrit burn haumai and desires (trishna )   "haumai trishna shabad bujaai" Guru Amardas jee
Naam does not produce ego but it will invoke the awareness of it. The seeker becomes conscious of when mann is acting  in ego or when mann is in guru's hukam( gur-mat).    You get better in  recognizing when one's ego is in play.

Agree totally. Your advice is quite sound and justified, because the simran jaap as per sikhee mentioned by you above, is what will safely and surely take us to His abode.
For if Waheguru alone is our goal, then of course the wisdom of Guru Jee which is complete, is what is required to reach that goal.
Otherwise there are so many khands, so many realms, so many subtle planes...countless, to which we may reach mistakenly.
The teachings of Guru Jee are the purest and highest  which deal only with Sach Khand and Waheguru, so there is no chance of manmukhta nor mistakes.
It is Gurbani which tells us :
JIN HAR JAPEEYA SE HAR HOEEYA.
Let us ask ourselves, is there any other path which can reveal us such Truth in such a simple verse of 6 words only?
    Wah Waheguru, wah Gurbani.

In my humble opinion, I do not think thirst for knowledge is any hindrance in the sound current path.
Rather, if there is any hindrrance it is the desire of possesing or aquiring to dominate or boast about it, this in reality is hankar or ego, and ego is the last vikaar/thief  to leave .
The example I usually give for the above situation is that one of Ravan.
What jap or tap did he not perform? Then too, he was yet very much wicked even after aquiring so many powers, that he had overpowered the devtays and all the 5 chor were very much active in him, that too being such a devotee of the god Shiva.
Though bhakti is performed by almost everybody in all the religions, but there is definetely difference of whom the bhakti is done of.
Like the one of worshipping the numerous deities, trinties, or gods on one side, or, worshipping the Highest Truth, which is infinite, eternal and changeless, namely Waheguru Akal Purukh/Satnam/Nam or Shabad.
We are extremely lucky that we are born in sikh dharam, that due to His grace, that we by devoting ourselves to Him Waheguru Akal Purukh, we for sure reach His abode safely and totally pure, for engaging in His bhakti, we graduallly become pure/paviter, desireless, humble, full in faith and love for His Lotus Feet....
Even our chains from the never ending cycle of births and deaths are cut off, we have no more accounts to be settled with Dharam Raj .
To get the most(Him), by giving just a little bit of ourselves(manmukhta) regularly.
Isn´t it incredible? Isn´t it amazing? So much grace, so much mercy, on us sinners.
What else can one want ?
To love Him, we do not have to go anywhere, nor do any penances, or leave home or family, neither endure hardships on the physical body, but simply sit at one place, close the eyes and concentrate to meditate on Him.
That´s it, as simple as that.
In this respect, the Bani beautifully and in simple words tells us:
Prabh ka simran mun kee mael jaae.  ( By His simran, all vikars, sins, pollution on the mind,  are washed away)
Prabh ka simran garb na baseh. ( By His simran,  one is not born again in any joonee)
Jin Har japeeya, se Har hoeeya. ( He whosoever meditates on Him by His jaap, becomes Him)
His simran, as seen, is the only means to reach Him, not only that, but something still more wonderful, which is merging in Him  and becoming Him.
    Stay blessed.

We all on this path and learning together, here is my 2 cents- step by step process is not essential for everyone especially if one has tasted the direct path -grabbed narsingh directly (-narsingh symbolism of pure live atma-pure awareness) available all the time to everyone or narsingh(pure awareness) have grabbed you, even if its not essential then  baby step by step process is highly recommended and safe for everyone as my veers lucky, soulfinder and sat pointed out- worked so hard/ lived example expereince on this thread to help others as there are some really good reasons for that-
    - Direct path alone is absolutely dangerous (living on razor edge sword its like hanging up a thread in high altitude)  its not childs pay, its not yogi play its matter of grace but it will deprived you of everything-sleep you be in gyan jagrath, tired during day- while at job, cant funciton in gristh jevan, basic relationship, anti social, immense amount of bairaag, no hobbies, you be live  awake but dead -hapazard awakening is very hard and emotionally and body tolling but dead while on this direct path,  our sikh mahapursh would never propagate direct path as a general rule because there is no fall back- there are no steps, there is no grounding,  when you fall  you fall- miserably than try again again there are no stages advancement either you get swallowed alive in surrender devotion to atma or live it directly via gyan and become one with it or you not. 1 OR 0 non dual smadhi point.
    - There is saying you are entire ocean in a drop, imagine entire atomic atma grabbing this empty vessel- called body, without any preparations your thoughts/mind/ego be obliterated eaten alive by immense force of chaitna/Narsingha- pure awareness/consciouness. It effects your way of being with paradigm shift in much more more profound way  will take time reintegrate pure alive awareness back in your body fully once it does then there is harmony. I was also explained this by sant jagjit singh harkhowale in a similiar way.
    - Direct path or not, everyone needs grounding in our sikh tradition- sargun bhakti-nine form of devotion towards sri guru granth sahib ji, shabad surat.
Thats why sri guru granth sahib ji and our sikh mahapursh have given an framework- bhagti- sargun, seva, gurbani  vahiguru mool mantar mantar abhyas kirtan, shabad surat with direct aim to get to direct path step by step slowly,  its very safe for everyone. One can also tries the direct path (bhagti of self) while in those states while you have build up the ladder via- bhagti, seva, kirtan, shabad surat- fall back/grounding- No problem!, Fall back is safe you are back in body - senses, where you also feel bliss of kirtan, nine different forms of seva of sri guru granth sahib ji, shabad dhun then try try again slowly, sure its absolutely frustrating (especially if there is direct path-nirgun chaitan bhram -LIVE/ALL THE TIME-available moment to moment for everyone as backdrop ) you need pateince/steele nerve but trust me is safe, safe and safe for seekers especially in this western world where you gotta do your job, feed your family, raise your kids.
Sant baba isher singh ji rara sahib barsi coming up, i invite everyone who respect saints to read ishavar amalok, framework is given there.

    Interesting!
Some of you may be aware that I had experienced a NDE and was in a coma for nearly a month...but I don't go into details on an open forum.
This guy was talking about it just after a year... but in all honesty...it takes more than a few years to put all the pieces together and understand it.

I can usually comprehend the genuine NDE descriptions,so I will give my opinion on this one....and it is fairly genuine, except that I think he hasn't fully understood and realized yet !

My opinion is that he did come from one of the heavenly realms before his life on earth.
The fact, that in this life, he rejected God, the power, the divine...... is why he was susceptible to all the darker and negative energies which accounted for his numerous illnesses.

The easiest way to think of how these energies work is to think of your 'SOUL' or God energy as that which exists as a white light.
The more attached to God and the more God realized ---->>then the brighter and stronger the energy of this white light.

Stronger white light in a body---->>>makes the body less susceptible to energies of dark light... this also means poot, pret, jantar mantar, curses, black magic...and all that.... are less likely to affect such body.

Then on the other hand, if a person has hardly any white divine light in them---->>> then, their bodies are more likely to be consumed by the darker and depriving energies of ill health, disease, depression...and even suicide.

Think of "GU-RU"...from darkness to light !

He witnessed the Cosmic arrangement and from what he was trying to explain as really fast travel--->>>was about the real ''interstellar'' cosmic shift through light years of space in no concept of time!... 5th dimension!
This is how "Gobind"-(Lord of the Universe)....shows you what your existence really is.
It is tailored for each individual, which is why, No two experiences are ever exactly the same !.... OR they wouldn't be called experiences.

He said that wherever he was, "in this valley"... he felt comfortable and at home to say!....... that's because he had come from there originally, which means he was already out of lakh chaurasi before birth! (not sure if some of you will get this...can explain later)

Basically, the only way that he could move up from any of those heavens to sachkhand.. was by taking birth as a human again.... and from some of the heaven loks, you can actually do this by choice or will.

Human birth-existence, means---->>> live out or bhog your karams,, which are basically the weight that hold you into a realm.

However, his denial and complete lack of dharam (one of the four padaraths)----->>> predisposed him to the darker energies of ill-being and ill health.

But the biggie for him was the Blessing of GRACE and KIRPA by Akaal Purakh..........so that he got another chance to complete his duties.
This is HUKAM--->>>None of us can ever explain how or why.

This is what happens when you get thrown back into lack chaurasi again......the jamdoots come and club you with the iron dhandey, tie you up in shackles and lead you away as Kabirji says in gurbani.
You see, this guy was already out of the lack chaurasi from his previous janam, which is why he went straight into some lower/middle heaven lok--->>>since, he cam from there originally.

The other point is that as Guru Tegh Bahadurji describes...."This janam and life is just like a dream, when we wake up(which is when we die),-->> we realize that none of this life was real."

If you just imagine that when you are in a dream---->>It all seems quite real when you are in it...the people,.....the interactions,.... everything.... will seem like a reality in the dream state...... But, when you wake up-->>You realize that it wasn't real after all,.... it was just a dream, and now you are in the reality...dam-gotta getup in 30 mins and go to work
In the same manner,.... Death is like the waking up from this matrix illusion.

A reason why there is a difference within NDE descriptions is,.. because it depends on what and where you were from in previous janams.
Lakh chaurasi is the complete universal cycle and then there are all the heaven loks that go from lower to higher realms but there are some levels after which you cannot ascend unless you have human birth.

The ascension within realms can happen, but this is in the ones where jamdoots take you, where you have to realize, learn and accept all your dark wrongdoings.
So for eg,, you may end up in the dark pit of where all the murderer jivas are.... You will enjoy their company until you realise, accept and learn your own shortcomings and sin of murdering.....in doing so, you will be able to rise above the rest, as your inner light will get brighter.... then you move on to the next lessons.....and so on.....

The MAIN point that I can stress is that, when a soul jiva is in this Human Life form---->>> This is it's only chance to jap, meditate, get the one-pointed awareness......so that it can go straight --->>> Sachkhand.
The Direct one way plane ticket that Guru Nanak Ji has taught us-->>Nanak naam jahaz hai

In the Video, Mr Jaswal has got some idea about his mind-no thoughts-...etc...because he mentioned it a few times....But he hasn't quite said that he has deciphered the message that he must Jap and meditate. This is why he was given the second chance.

As I stated above, I don't go into details about my NDE on an open forum, but I can tell you all that the main message and duty that I came back for was ...Jap, Simran ..and bhagti on His Name.
That was the ONLY thing I knew I had to do but I had never done it previously. In fact, I was never even spiritually inclined in any way.........so it took me a couple of years to work out how to get going and do bhagti.

The Dhan/Wealth of Naam is only carried forward from this realm of human life.

    Sat Sri Akaal

If the person is only after the ridhi/sidhis/powers, then the dhayan on lower levels are okay BUT if the person wants the Middle path (where God comes along with its powers, same way wherever Sun goes shadows follow), then Gurmantar jaap should be done at Trikute. But the dhayan on Trikute has to be done in proper fashion but not through force.

The only advice I'm going to give is be very careful about listening to too many different people on how to do bhagti.  I know we all look for shortcuts to move forward quickly. Your going to become so confused about which technique to follow and use and not going to get anywhere. Trust me on this one because it happens to me all the time. All that happens is we are collecting gyan from everyone like taking a karchi from every pateela. We are just sinking in the gyan and that is becoming a hindrance for us to progress and we don't have enough practical to match on each path. Pick one teacher and then follow their teachings. There is no point sharing what one teacher says with another asking for confirmation. It really pisses them off. Either you have faith in your current teacher or you do not.Don't mix and match. Because if something goes wrong who will you turn to? Pick one and then stay on that path and follow only their instructions. That way they know what instructions you have been given.
You got so many different sources on this forum now. Please all pick one and then do the simran.
    Already we got :
    Bhai Simranjeet Singh Tohana
    Bhai Dharamjit Singh (Gurmat Meditation)
Prabh Milne Ka Chao (Moga) and all their students all over the world.
Bhai Ajit Singh (Guru Maneyo Granth Gurdwara, Slough)
Bhai Nirvair Singh (Akal Sahai Waheguru Naam Leva)
Bhai Charanjit Singh Khalsa (Shabad Guru Parchar Mission)
Bhai Gurmail Singh Ji Mand ( Prabh Ka Simran Kendar Mand)
Just listening to the above they all teach differently, even though they all learnt from Bhai Sewa Singh Tharmala. High level they all teach the same, but when it comes to jugti's they are all slightly different and teach at different paces and sequences beyond saas-giras simran. Hell even the saas-giras is slightly different.
Now we have included Bhai Charanjit Singh Gorkhi into the mix.
All that happens is you spend hours listening to the gyan and jugtis but not enough time doing abhiyaas. So what you have done is dirty your mind even more. When you now sit for simran, you will be wondering which technique should I use because nothing is happening with the one I'm doing. The gyan becomes the maya for us. If I look back at how much time I spent listening to all these guys. Imagine how much simran I would have done in that time instead. My mind would have been very much more still. Instead It now wonders in 10 different teachers directions. This teacher said this, this person said that. Why is nothing happening. It is seeking that next experience to progress. It is not still at all
I'm the worst. I have been doing this for years now. Please don't make the same mistakes I did.
My fastest progress came when I knew nothing and was just listening to one of them and did what I was told. Then I became too eager and wanted to accelerate my progress. I started listening to all of them on the list because I felt one was always holding something back and not telling me the complete picture. They all speak of higher avastas which any seeker would want to experience. They always dropped hints but never told you precisely what you needed to do. I wanted the next jugti, found it out, but it never worked for me. One becomes a jugti collecting addict, but mind is not of that avasta so they never work. Now I got so many techniques in my head that I don't know which one I should use or do next. When the student is ready your told the next stage 1-to-1. Listening to all of these people just muddies the water of the mind.
I got to admit in the last couple of years so many gurmukhs are springing up willing to help. 10 years ago we had no one. The problem for us now is which teacher is the best, who will get us to Waheguru the fastest. LOL The problem is we are jumping boats too frequently and that is our downfall. Your going to listen to so many different teachers jugtis your going to end up saying I heard that one before. But never actually deeply experienced any of them. They will just remain techniques.
My current teacher says forget everything now and start again and revert back to gurmantar. The day I stop answering your questions then your free to move on. But in the mean time don't waste my time or yours if you not going to stay put. Just get on with what I tell you and have faith in Waheguru, SGGS  and your teacher to guide your on the right path.
You know what guys, I still can't do it. So much gyan is coming out these days from all these sources above, that it is pure kun(ear) ras. You get high just listening to it. You think you learned something new which will help you on the journey quicker. But when it comes to actually doing simran abhyaas mind doesn't want to know and you can't take even a few steps. You rather spend your time listening to all the katha on this subject. But that is not bhagti guys, and deep down we all know it.
I'm drowning friends with all these teachers, don't know about you lot.... I don't want to know of anyone else. There isn't enough hours in the day to listen to what they all have to say. Some of us are gristi and it's driving our families nuts that we are just listening to what all these teachers have to say. I'm not interested in other stuff these days. It's like this has become a full time hobby. LOL You can't even concentrate at work because your mind wants to listen what the latest teaching has been posted by one of the above.

Before you watch this video please set your bias aside. Listen with open mind and be like a bee who extracts nectar from various flowers 💐. Just replace the words Radha, Krishan ji with waheguru and Guru Nanak ji.  His words have sweetness and a great magnetism , one can feel that Naam is pargat inside him. I have not come across any hindu mahapurush like him.  The summary of video is importance of continuous Naam repetition while sitting, walking, eating etc. He explains that Nirantar Bhajan is very importany and many other subtle jugtis on how to tackle mind.  Waheguru Ji. Hope the abhiyasis can benefit. 🙏🏽

I am sorry guys but this all is too funny..
I would say you need to grow up. It's good that you are communicating with your father and even better that your mind wants to increase its food by Increasing your Nitnem but
one you made a silly Comitment of increasing one path a day and now when you see it as a not possible task for yourself you are finding ways around? Whom are you trying to fool man? Your own self of course! cos it of course doesn't matter to Baba ji.
Brother he only sees your bhavna. ( remember Gobind bhaav bhagat ka bhooka. Jin Prem kiyo tin hi Prabh paayo) so it's love that matters.
Syaanpa - chaturaiya that you are doing with your mind are NOT parwaan in Sikhi and you should of course know that as you recite Japji sahib so much. It's not the game of numbers, it's Not materiaistic, it's all about ❤love.
Ek chhin vi parwaan hai if it is whole hearted ( ek pal ek chhin jin dhiyaayo kaal phaas k beech na aayo)
Read the sakhi of Bhai Gopala-one Japji sahib paath with all your concentration and he was about to get the Gur Gaddi- imagine the power of this bani.
Do as much u can with utmost Love! And that's parwaan.
@ lavi -please understand that we don't do paath to make Guru sahib hear it, he would of course understand all the jumblings and mumbling of his kids, but we do paath, simran for our inner cleansing ( bhariye mat papa k sang oh dhope naave k rang) and again it's the love that matters be them mumblings, barking or gargles

I am not sure if you are working closely with @Lucky bhaji's methodology.
If you are then that's good, you should probably go with it.

But I'll share my thoughts on this, in case it helps you or anyone else reading -

What is your goal with meditation?
What are you trying to accomplish in the long run?
What do you want out of it now? Tomorrow? Next week? Next year? Next 5 years?
    Think about this seriously.
Because it is important to have a goal with things that you want to pursue seriously.

If your goal is to try to increase the volume of these sounds, the Shabad sounds, to the point where you can hear them above the volume of Running Water, then put your attention on the sounds as much as possible.
Is that what you want to do? Because that is something you can certainly do.
I knew a client who could make the Shabad sound really loud, with such high energy.
He called it the inner Om.
He said he could make it sound louder than the loudest concert.
He had reached really high energy states.
I have also done meditations with the goal of making these louder by putting my attention in them and amping their volume up.
That is something you can meditate on and with.

Now... there is a difference between these Shabad sounds, and regular sounds, such as that of Running Water, as @Lucky points out in above post.

When you meditate, you pull back from the sounds of the world and then you head these inner sounds.
When you stop the monologue running in the mind, then you hear these inner sounds.

But ultimately even these Shabad sounds, is also an Experience that Consciousness (Atma/Parmatma) is having, just like your other experience of Running Water sounds or the experience of internal monologue.
These Shabad sounds can be called Anhad Shabad because they are Anhad from the perspective of the World. They are An-Had, Un-Struck, they don't have a source in the world.
But they are Had, struck, from the perspective of Consciousness.
From Absolute Consciousness perspective, they are struck by Absolute Consciousness.
They are coming from Consciousness, just like any other sound from the world.
So from the perspective from Consciousness, these are not utlimately Anhad.
That's why I say that ultimately even these Shabad sounds, is also an Experience that Consciousness is having.
Ultimately Consciousness is Anhad because there is nothing prior to it, nothing strikes to create Consciousness.

So how do you go from these Shabad sounds to Consciousness (Atma/Parmatma)?
How do you listen to the Anhad Shabad that is behind the Anhad Shabad?
What I would do in this situation is to try to keep my focus on the space in which the Shabad sounds are arising.
Think who is listening to Anhad Shabad, and pay attention to that One, who is the space in which you experience the unstruck sounds.

gsm52 reacted to harsharan000 in Getting Darshan of a Brahmgyani.
One more thing I would like to add in this beautiful thread is that, be it any Brahmgyani of any time, past, present or future, they meet or give darshan to those only who are mentioned to Them by Waheguru Akal Purukh.
Nobody can ever do anything by their own will, it is all Waheguru´s Hukum.  This we have to bear in mind, be it Guru Sahiban, be it Sant Jan, be it Gurmukhs, be it Bhagat Jan.... all act under  the Hukum of Waheguru.
Then also, related to this topic, I read sometime ago, that Brahmgyanis are like someone standing on top of the hill at night, from where  they can see the houses  down there which have the lights switched on,  thus those are the ones they go to visit or arrange in someway to meet them and give them whatever Waheguru´s hukum is for them.
Having said that, none of us know where or who is a Brahmgyani, for not knowing, we don´t even know what is going on in our next room, so how to look for that Brahmgyani?
Nevertheless, there is still an option left for us  by His grace, and that is to switch on the light of His Nam within us, by meditating on His sachaa  Nao, as seen throughout the Bani.
Who knows, when that Brahmgyani sees that the Jot of His Nam is lit within us through the Jaap of it  from the top of the hill, thus arrange accordingly to meet Them.
Brahmgyanis need not like us to go physically anywhere, for them the whole "kaynat" is an open book, right from Sach Khand to Patal Lok, nothing is hidden from them, thus they see the Jot in those beings from anywhere thery maybe, and know that they have an order for that jeeva from Akal Purukh to be delivered
Physicall darshan of Them is lovely, is most beautiful, is most valuable, is balhaar, but their real darshan is the one of Their spiritual form.
What mahima  to sing of Their physical darshan? Not everybody values it.
For example, Prithi Chand had Akal Purukh as his father, and another form of Akal Purukh as his brother, but inspite of living under the same roof and having Their physical darshan 24 x 7 , he did not recognize the reality of Them, thus remained wicked as he was .
It is by having the spiritual darshan of Them, that one stops commiting nonsense, for then, there is quite some spiritual purity in us by Their grace, thus be able to have Their darshan.

I justed wanted to write a little example to help understand what I believe Guru ji is trying to instruct us with, because if you learn you apply this jugti then you watch how much more stable you mind becomes. You will then notice how when you don’t, you will automatically see how it breaks your inner peace.

I am sure you have heard countless saakhi’s of bhagats, mahapursh calling everyone they see WaheGuru. When I first heard this I found it a little strange, why on earth are they calling a person waheguru. I have even been to gurdwaras where this is normal practise. First I thought maybe they are japping naam after ever little phrase. Then when I started listening more and reading SGGS the light dawned.

These people are trying to develop what I believe is called bibek bhuddie. As guru ji instructs us to do in the pangti’s above and probably countless others. If you train your mind to see Waheguru in everyone who will you hate? who will you curse? who will you swear at? Who will you do nindiya off?

Then this is not just limited to people, look at Waheguru’s whole creation. Waheguru is inside that too but we just don’t have that divine sight to see his parkash in it yet, myself included. But slowly when you start bringing this line of thought into your mind you develop more peace/shanty of mind because you don’t want to hurt anyone or do their nindeya because indirectly your only adding more sins into your basket. And boy do we have millions of them already. This is how guru ji is instructing us how to conquer Krodh and the other vices gurbani talks about.

The day the penny dropped for me, I was waling down an escalator and below I saw hundreds of people, and the more I looked at them the more I smiled and just said Waheguru. Then I walked home I saw a tree and I looked at that tree and said to myself guru ji your in their too but one day please show yourself in your true light.

The more I remember to put this at the forefront of my mind, when ever a confrontation starts I have now come to hate it and think this person is has lost it and I wont let him destroy my inner piece which with his kirpa I am trying to so hard to develop. Just silently start japping waheguru in your mind and do not be drawn into any kind of confrontation. You see how most times the situation just dissolves itself.

If the other person doesn't stop, just step back with nimerta and say "Tuwno Jaadha Patha Ji" and walk away.

Dhan Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji.

    Waheguru.

    Appologies for my spelling mistakes...
